Barcelona failed to continue their impressive form in the Spanish La Liga as they suffered their first loss of this campaign against their bitter rivals Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Sunday. The Blaugranas were defeated 3-1 by the La Liga defending champions as they dropped to second on the log.
Spanish forward Ferran Torres scored Barcelona’s only goal of the game, but goals from French striker Karim Benzema, Fede Valverde and Rodrygo Goes gave the Los Blancos the deserved victory over the Catalans.
After the game, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez reveals the person to blame for their 3-1 loss to the Los Blancos.
“I won’t ever blame the players. It won’t happen. I am the captain of this ship and I take responsibility,” he said.
“Above the result, I care more about the bad image we show on the pitch. We have to analyze the match with the staff. We need to find the reasons as to why we’re struggling.”
