Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen reacts to loss to Platinum Stars

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen says his team could have played all night and not scored against Platinum Stars, but he took encouragement from the performance of his "young brigade". Arrows lost 2-0 to Stars on Tuesday night, with Tintswalo Tshabalala and Bongi Ntuli netting either side of the break at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg. The result leaves Abafana Bes'thende in sixth place on the table with 27 points from 21 matches - two points more than a resurgent Dikwena in eighth.

Larsen told his club's website: "We could have played all night and not scored, it was one of those games. A dominant second half performance as we created chance after chance without any joy. "Most pleasing for us was the performances of our young brigade. [Nkosingiphile] Gumede, [Velemseni] Ndwandwe, [Siyabonga] Dube, [Ndudozo] Sibiya, [Thabo] Molefe, [Sibusiso] Sibeko and [Kwanele] Hlongwane all showing that they are the future of our club.   "To play so well away from home and return empty-handed is disappointing but there is certainly much to be proud of. We will continue to believe in and give our young players opportunities to play."
