Real Madrid loss to Atletico in the UEFA Super Cup has come as a disappointment to Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, and also acknowledging the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence should not be taking as an excuse for losing.
Casemiro started the match but he was subbed off in the 76th minute, when he was replaced because of injury with Madrid still leading 2-1.
"We are hurt after losing a title but this is just the beginning. We have full confidence in our coach," he said.
"Making excuses is not the profile of Real Madrid. Here, we win together and lose together."
The Defensive midfielder has time to also talked about the departure of their former Talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, revealing the side miss him but claims it is in the past now.
"Of course we missed Cristiano [Ronaldo], but that's in the past. "We can't hide from that fact: any team in the world would miss him," he said.
"We don't have a better or worse squad because of one result, the matter of new signings is for those higher up than me," Casemiro said.
