Mourinho: I requested for five new players but none have arrived

Manchester United are currently struggling to find their feet in their pre-season games, their manager Jose Mourinho have highlighted the lack of good signings as the reason for their struggles.

Their recent lose came in their 4-1 defeat against Liverpool on Saturday which makes it two games without a win. After the game on Saturday, Mourinho wanted to point out their frustrating transfer activity blaming the club for not being active in the transfer market.

The former Chelsea coach is known for his media appearances and stunts, the two players he singled out were Anthony Martial, who left the camp for the birth of his baby, and Antonio Valencia, who picked up an injury just a few days into pre-season.

"I only hope that the guys who go on holiday take care of themselves and do what they have to do," he said. "To be like [Marcus] Rashford and [Phil] Jones who came back earlier to help the team because if not, we'll start the season with problems."

Most of the first team regulars are still on holiday because of the World Cup, a situation which is frustrating the Portuguese coach. Mourinho has been using the media to send a message to Ed Woodward concerning the transfer policy of the red devils. He has assured fans that for months he presented a list of five names who he wanted to have in plenty of time before the transfer market closes on August 9.

"I'd like to have two more players, although I don't think I'm going to have two more," he said."Maybe I'll get one more if that's possible. I gave a list of five players who interest me to the club and I hope we'll get at least one.

"But if it is not possible, then we'll continue fighting, working and believing in those we have."
