Alisson Becker has officially joined Liverpool from AS Roma with the goalkeeper arriving for a fee of 75 million euros, making him the most expensive shot-stopper ever.

The Brazilian shot-stopper takes Gianluigi Buffon’s spot as the most expensive goalkeeper after breaking the Italian’s 43m euros record when he joined Juventus from Parma in 2001/02 season.

Liverpool’s goalkeeping department has come under scrutiny since last season, Alisson’s arrival will answer the unconvincing performances from both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

Alisson is the fourth signing to join the Merseyside Reds this summer, following the arrivals of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Fabinho from AS Monaco and Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, with all these signings it takes the Liverpool’s spending spree to 200m euros this summer.
