After a long tussle between Spanish FA (RFEF) and Sevilla over the decision of changing the approach of the Spanish Super cup from a two-legged tie to a one-legged tie on a neutral ground, the Spanish FA have confirmed that the Supercopa de Espana will be full of firsts in 2018 as it will be played in a one-off fixture in Morocco.
The match will be between Barcelona and Sevilla which will be the first time the competition has been played outside of Spain. Sevilla will face Barcelona on August 12 in the Stade Ibn Battouta in Tangier, with kick-off scheduled for 9:00 pm Nigerian time.
Sevilla will be hoping for a revenge against Barcelona after the Catalan club defeated them in the Copa del Rey final, The Blaugrana went on to win both the La Liga and the Copa in 2017/18.
The stadium is of a capacity of 45,000, it will be a historic occasion for the football fans that will be able to see the game.
